Sr. Brigid Perez shares her ministry at the Alee Shelter to our 7th grade students

Sr. Brigid Perez and 7th Grade Students

November 6, 2009.  As part of their social justice lesson in Religion class, Ms. Bernadette Alcantara and her 7th grade students collected, sorted and boxed toys, clothes, books and shoes for donations to Alee Shelter.  Sister Brigid Perez, RSM was invited to talk about her ministry and mission in the Alee Shelter with the SBCS 7th graders during the day of giving of donations.  We thank our parents and students who wholeheartedly supported this endeavor.

Sister Brigid shared about her vocation as a Sister of Mercy and her role in uplifting the condition of abused women and children, the importance of promoting a safe environment for all that is free of human suffering and attending to those who needs help.

Alee shelter provides temporary shelter to abused women and children who are victims of domestic violence.  If you are interested to help Alee Shelter or if you know a child who is being abused and needs help you can contact 475-2653 / 2672 or their hotline 648-Hope or 648-4673.
