“Flip” Presentation

Title: Let’s Flip Our Views (in relation to class novel, Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen)
Presenters: Monica Limtiaco and Wansesty Yalimswar
Purpose: Sensitivity training in preparation for Guma’ Mami outreach activity. Information was on developmental disabilities versus mental illnesses, the different examples of each and some traits, research on possible causes and treatment, and how to treat those with either a disability or mental illness.

Project Strengthening Teens Awareness and Resources (STAR)

A 1-hour community outreach presentation with the 8th-grade students on what the Guam Coalition Against Sexual and Family Violence offers the community as well as information on the dynamics of domestic assault and dating violence, sexual assault. victim rights, and where to get services. The presentation was held last April 24, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the SBCS Multi-Purpose Room 2.
