Out Reach Project

IMG_8259On Friday, May 20, at our Year End Eucharistic Celebration, Mr. Ron Carandang, Deputy Director of Catholic Social Services, was on hand to accept several donations to various organizations from our Spartan Community.

On behalf of Alee Shelter, Mr. Carandang accepted a check from the 6A and 7A classes for over $400.00. The classes won a newspaper competition from the Guam Daily Post in connection to a Social Studies project. They donated their winnings to the organization.

Mr. Carandang also accepted $200.00 in gas cards from the 7A class. Through their Religion class and the Quarter Quest Project, the students collected monies throughout the year for the benefit of the Alee Shelter, as well.IMG_8268

He also accepted several boxes of school supplies for the Alee Shelter collected during our school’s Catholic School’s Week Talent Show earlier
this school year.

Lastly, our Spartan Community also donated over $800 worth of adult diapers to Catholic Social Services. The items will be divvied up amongst several elderly facilities run by CSS benefiting our elderly in need.

Un Dangkulo na Si Yu’os Ma’ase and Maraming Salamat Po to all the students, parents, and teachers involved in these various outreach projects as a response to Pope Francis’ call for a Year of Mercy. Biba Santa Barbara!

Kusinan Santa Barbara

September 24, 2014-Feast of Our Lady of Mercy.

Our deepest gratitude to our 8th graders, their advisers, and parents for their outreach project to the homeless in our community. Dubbed “Kusinan Santa Barbara,” this monthly event is held at the Santa Barbara Parish Hall. Kudos to everyone for a successful and meaningful social outreach and for spreading God’s mercy and compassion to our needy brothers and sisters.
